Redesign BT Pay: All in one
BT Pay has undergone a redesign, intended to make the application as intuitive as possible for users and as aligned as possible with the latest design trends.
What we wanted was an interface as simple as possible, but one that encapsulate from the first interaction all the main features of the application, so that the user can quickly find the information they need. The new interface is much more scalable because the structure was designed to incorporate in the future all the functionalities a person needs to do remote banking, just having the phone at hand. And BT Pay 😊.
We take you on a journey about what the BT Pay redesign meant, about the main reasons why the application's structure was rethought, to present the new version of the interface design:
- Let's prepare the super-app interface to be able to incorporate as many useful functionalities as possible for BT customers;
- Let's have a design as attractive as possible for the interface, in line with the trends, but with a strong focus on content and information, as well as with the possibility to integrate the dark mode option in the near future;
- It should be as simple as possible for a user to perform basic operations, such as: payments to merchants, balance viewing, money transfer, bill payments, card details, etc., some being "hidden" in the initial version and therefore were brought to the home screen.

What users want. Empathy in technology
We have always asked ourselves the questions: As a BT Pay user and Transilvania Bank client, what do I need most in the app and why do I use the application?
Solution through design
The new design solves the following more simply and more quickly:
- The most useful functionalities (Transfer, Transfer via IBAN, Transfer between cards, Transaction history, Card details, Withdraw cash, Card settings, Bill payment etc.) are found on the BT Pay home screen.
- Functionalities are highlighted by specific icons, standardized by style and color scheme.
- One of the most used functionalities, transfers from the app, is highlighted separately – Transfer based on phone number, through IBAN and between cards –, so that the ways in which a user wants to initiate a transfer are very intuitive.
- Certain functionalities targeting application for a credit card, increasing the credit line for held credit cards, applying for overdraft, as well as complementary banking functionalities - Rewards on the go, Donations etc. – appear in the form of boxes, and navigation is by swipe.
- Visual hierarchy.
BT Pay design goals
- User experience (UX Design): user-friendly through increased ease of navigation, to be more intuitive, aided by design elements;
- User interface (UI Design): look and feel good through the visual concept, colors, coherence, all should help the user quickly find what they want;
- To help the user discover more about phone banking;
- To contribute to the formation of new behaviors;
- To contribute to financial and digital education and to financial inclusion;
- To contribute to increasing the number of digitalized clients of Transilvania Bank.
UX transformation: increasing the rating in app store
Ratings in the AppStore & GooglePlay Store have reached 4.8 out of a maximum of 5.
