The story of BT Dialog agencies
We are used to seeing the results – and it is normal for it to be so. What is often not seen are the steps, the team, and the work behind them. 😊
I have written more about BT Dialog agencies in the article of here.
This time it is also about Ionuț Marciuc. He came to BT 17 years ago and since then has gone through several roles. In the last 6 years he has coordinated sales activities in several counties, but he has also set up important projects for the network.
This year he decided that it was time to get more involved in a direction he believes in and wants to see grow – the BT Dialog concept.
We talk with him about the project, about how he sees communication with clients and banking in general.
How did BT Dialog appear?
The Dialog Project started by experimenting. I was part of a brave team that was able to test several models, but which had the same objective – to talk more with customers. I created a place where we develop long-term relationships with those who come to us because we want to understand them and come up with the right solutions.
What does it mean today for a bank to manage to remain relevant to customers?
I believe the quality of the relationship between the bank and the client is important. Besides products, new ideas, digitalization, and quality services, communication is essential – the continues and honest. Și asta e în ADN-ul nostru. Asta vrem să ducem la următorul nivel în rețeaua de agenții BT Dialog.
How radical should banks be in their need to innovate?
It takes a lot of courage to innovate, especially in a highly regulated field such as banking. BT is a leader and more than that, it is a Romanian bank close to its clients. I believe that for this reason it is very important to open paths, innovate, and grow responsibly.
Is there a clear distinction between what means easy and difficult in banking?
It is easy at the moment when you truly like it and find meaning in what you do. It becomes difficult at the moment when you want to get involved in more and more projects at the same time. That is why balance is needed, even if it is a challenge to find it. Easy it is when you feel that you have contributed, it becomes difficult when you start doing things you don't feel.
Are young leaders emerging in the banking sector? Do you see future leaders in the current generation?
With joy I say yes. And their main attribute is courage. Much more courage compared to the generation I belong to. Young leaders nowadays have an immediate impact, they make their voice heard and their presence matters. They are good communicators, they are competitive and – very importantly – they are much more connected to the world around them. And that is what we are looking for for BT Dialog and for BT in general.
Do you think BT is a good learning environment?
BT stands out through its entrepreneurial spirit. This spirit exists in the relationship with customers, but also internally. Every colleague with initiative can learn and develop a lot. BT is a local banking school, extremely connected to the Romanian market, but who has learned best practices also from other international banking systems.
Why should young people be motivated today to work in the banking field?
Today's banking is a mix between traditional and digital. Young people have the chance to learn more about finance and economics while being connected to technology. It is true that working in the banking network area is a big challenge, but fulfillment comes from customer gratitude.
When you work in a network you feel like you are part of the community, you are responsible for the people you live beside.
