How do you save money if you live abroad?
Do you have some new dreams on the list? 📃
You may want to set aside money for the next vacation, for a bigger future plan, or simply for your peace of mind. Regardless of where you are, in Romania or in the diaspora, saving can be simpler when you have all the options at hand, in one place.
In BT Pay you will find saving solutions tailored to your needs, so that you can turn your plans into reality, step by step. Enter the tab „“Savings” and discover which product suits you best. 💙
Savings account
- You can put money aside in a savings account in euros that also has interest. 📈
- You only need 100 lei or 100 euros to start saving.
- You have full control over your savings: you deposit and withdraw money whenever you want.
- You can have one or more accounts, which you can rename as you wish (this way it might be easier for you to save) - for example, Vacation at home. 🏖️
Term deposit
- Perfect for medium or long-term savings - you can make a fixed-term deposit for 1, 3, 6, 12, 24, or even 36 months.
- The interest rate of a euro deposit is up to 1.75%.
- You can save in lei, euro, or dollars and have a fixed interest rate for the entire deposit period. 😊
- Zero commission for opening the deposit.
Round Up
Every time you pay, we automatically round up the amount to a rounding multiple chosen by you (1, 5, or 10 lei) and the difference goes directly into your Round Up savings account, which also earns interest. Buut, let's take an example, to see exactly what it's about. You are in the city and want to buy a coffee that costs 12.5 lei, your amounts will be rounded like this, depending on the multiple you choose:
- 1 leu: 0.5 lei are added to your Round Up account
- 5 lei: 2.5 lei are added to your Round Up account
- 10 lei: 7.5 lei are deposited into your Round Up account
How do you activate Round Up?
- From the BT Pay home screen, choose the Round Up option.
- You choose a rounding multiple: 1 leu, 5 lei or 10 lei. If you change your mind later, you can modify the multiple.
- This is all! 🎉 From now on, for each payment made with the debit card, the amount paid is rounded up to the multiple you chose and deposited into the Round Up savings account, which also earns interest.
- You can withdraw all the money from Round Up at once, whenever you want, without any commission.
- Round Up you activate it only once and that's it, the savings start to grow.
It is important to know that Round Up applies to payments in lei, online or at POS, in Romania or abroad.
And because every big plan starts with a small step, it's worth choosing the saving option that best suits your lifestyle. Whether you want to save money gradually, save regularly, or put your money to work for your future goals, in BT Pay you have everything at hand.
